As the world continues to battle the global pandemic, MapQuest for Business will provide its mapping and navigation services at no expense to qualifying developers who are assisting in the fight against COVID-19. This free offering of our search, routing, geocoding and maptile services is available immediately.
Our goal is to enable teams to develop tools for users to locate instances of COVID-19 along with helpful information and a dynamic set of relevant features to stay informed and safe. Upon approval, developers will be provided with a MapQuest developer key and can link their applications via MapQuest SDKs and APIs to interactive maps to support efforts to contain, and raise awareness of, COVID-19.
“The accuracy of location data is of utmost importance for the safety of all citizens – especially healthcare providers and medical service facilities,” said John Chipouras, general manager of MapQuest. “The MapQuest for Business offering will enable the developers who are supporting the front-line effort to help address the threat of COVID-19 as it continues to evolve on an hourly basis.”
Free access to the MapQuest SDKs and APIs will be administered through Comtech Location Technologies, the strategic sales and account management partner for MapQuest. “Comtech Location Technologies’ partnership with MapQuest creates a powerful synergy that can address the serious public safety issue of COVID-19.
